About Us
We are an Orthodox shul in Providence RI, a community who come together to daven, learn, perform acts of kindness, and socialize. We are led by our Rav, Rabbi Yehoshua Singer, and by our Officers and volunteers. Together with other community organizations, we have daily minyanim, nightly learning, and classes for men, women, and children, some in conjunction with the RI Torah Network. And we enjoy being together, whether it’s at kiddush on Shabbos and yomtov, Chanukah parties, Purim seudos, picnics, and more. We are family, performing acts of kindness in happy times and difficult ones. And we welcome Jews of all backgrounds to join us, as we grow together.
Our Rav
In August, 2024, we welcomed Rabbi Yehoshua Singer as our Rav. Rabbi Singer, originally from Silver Spring, MD has Semicha Yoreh Yoreh Yadin Yadin from the Rabbinical Seminary of America (Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim). He is passionate about helping Jewish people individually and communally find meaning and purpose in their religious experiences and studies, and in their relationship with G-d. In addition to being Rav of Sha’arei Tefilla, he is co-founder and co-director of the RI Torah Network, and an incredibly energetic and hard-working advocate for the Providence Jewish community.
